Our recent trip to the alps opened up a whole new world to us - the mountains in the summer. Chamonix was picture perfect during our stay - sunshine, flowers, snow capped peaks....
There's so much to do in the alps during the warmer months - hiking, mountain biking, climbing, parapenting, glacier trails, eating delicious food and sipping rose in the sunshine - we won't need to be asked twice to go back!
The best place to stay is the Hotel L'Arve - it's right in the centre of town and most of the balcony's look out onto the river. At around 80 euros a night it won't break the bank either. If you're hungry just wander around until you find a table outside in the sunshine. We can recommend the Bar, Brasserie, Grill on the opposite corner from La Terrasse - amazing tartiflette. For a night out head to Chambre Neuf or Bar d'up.
